October is just around the corner and my kids are getting excited about Halloween. Our neighbor has already decorated her front yard and down the street is a house all decked out with scare crows and lights. This year is going to be a little bit different with lots of Fall events being canceled. Another damper for the kids brought on by COVID. We are not going to let this stop us from having a good time. There will be spooky movies, decor, costumes, candy and I designed a Halloween scavenger hunt for us to do.

A scavenger hunt is a game in which players compete to see who can hunt down the most items from a list. You can also play it alone and try to finish as many tasks as possible. Some games require photo proof or to collect goodies which are usually free, like items found in nature.
If you play with several kids you could reward the winner with a price or candy, but it isn’t necessary.

This Halloween scavenger hunt printable does not require any preparation. All you do is print out the sheet, grab a pen to mark off the items found, and go outside. Take a walk or ride through the neighborhood and look at what you can find.
It is scarier to do this in the dark but safer in daylight when walking with small children. Don’t forget your glow sticks if you walk outside in the evening.
We will do this hunt on a day close to Halloween because the kids will be too excited to do this on the actual holiday.
I hope you will enjoy this activity with your kids!
Don’t forget to pin!
